The beaches of Trengandín and Ris de Noja renew the ‘Ecoplayas 2024 Flag’ of environmental quality

The Trengandín and Ris de Noja beaches have received the ‘Flag Ecoplayas 2024’ award, in the Renovation category, which is awarded to those that have already received this award in previous editions, and thanks to the city council’s commitment to improving quality from the same.

The renewal of this distinction occurs within the framework of the XXII International Congress and Exhibition of Beaches-Ecoplayas 2023, which was held at the Marbella Congress Palace, on October 25, 26 and 27.

This award seeks to “recognize and distinguish beaches that stand out for their environmental quality policy, with objective criteria in terms of equipment and maintenance and always from the perspective of engineering and sustainability”, in addition to also valuing “the maintenance of the aspects positive results and improvements made.

The Ecoplayas Flag is awarded by Ategrus (Technical Association for Waste Management and the Environment), established in 1965, the only Spanish association that covers all waste management, urban cleaning and environmental systems and brings together municipalities, companies and technicians from the sector. Ategrus carries out an annual call for the presentation of candidatures for the Ecoplayas awards, in which functional concepts of aesthetic, tourism, service and sustainability excellence are valued.
