Noja will have two covered paddle tennis courts in the Ris sports center. The new installation will be carried out with a nominative subsidy of 300,000 euros from the Government of Cantabria. The aid will also be used to adapt an area for athletics practice and training in the same space, which will have elements for high jump, long jump and other modalities.

The announcement of this investment comes after the meeting held by the mayor of Noja, Mireia Maza, with the general director of Sports, Susana Ruiz, in order to address the needs of the town in this area. Maza thanked the director for being “sensitive and receptive” to the request for help that “we put forward for an initiative that I believe is realistic, necessary and in high demand by our neighbors, mainly those sports fans, who are many in our area.” municipality”.

Maza has indicated that a municipal item of 30,000 euros will be added to the committed aid, which has been included in the budget for 2024 recently approved in plenary. «Next year Noja will be able to have magnificent facilities for playing paddle tennis in the Ris sports center area, as well as a training track in that same environment for athletics fans, who are also many in the municipality and came demanding this type of endowment.
