A father arrested in Palma de Mallorca for locking up his son and dousing the ground with gasoline

The National Police have arrested a 69-year-old Spanish man for pouring gasoline on the floor of a establishment in Palma run by his son and locking the latter inside with screws to prevent him from leaving.

As reported by the police force, the events occurred around 1:00 p.m. this Monday in an establishment on Eusebi Estada street.

The man has locked his son, who runs the premises, from outside, putting screws in to prevent him from leaving it. He had also doused the floor with gasoline before locking him in the premises.

However, the son managed to escape through a hole in the establishment and notified the Police, who arrived at the place just at the moment when the father was going to light the lighter to burn the establishment down.

The agents have been able to avoid this incident and have proceeded to arrest the alleged perpetrator for illegal detention and the crime of arson.
